But there are so many heated rivalries in WWE that’s it tough to choose which one deserves a spot on top. Luckily, we chose for you ones that were extra fiery and brutal.

This rivalry began innocently enough in 2008 when Jericho served as a guest referee in Michael’s match against Batista. HBK won the match, but he did so deceitfully after faking a knee injury. Jericho called him out on his lie, and things quickly escalated.

An unforgettable moment in their feud was probably when Jericho punched Michael’s wife straight in the face. As you probably know, WWE is staged (no surprise there), but this punch was real. Jericho executed it badly, and he ended up actually hurting the woman. He sent the couple flowers for a whole week and begged for their forgiveness. Ouch…

C.M. Punk vs. Jeff Hardy

What made this feud so great was how believable it was. The backstage heat, the phenomenal ring work – it was incredible to watch. And to think that it all began with one black briefcase.
